A plumbing fault in a business costs more than the repair. A blocked kitchen drain can close a café for the day. A failed hot water unit empties an office bathroom. A backflow device that misses its annual test puts the building warrant of fitness at risk. Commercial plumbing is about keeping the business open as much as fixing pipes.
We handle reactive callouts, planned maintenance, compliance testing and fit-outs, and we schedule disruptive work outside trading hours wherever we can.
Pricing: quotes are free, and every job gets a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Grease traps and trade waste
Any Auckland business that cooks commercially needs to manage what goes down the drain. Watercare administers trade waste under its bylaw, and grease traps designed to G13/AS2 are the accepted solution under the Building Code. Grease interceptors and converters are alternatives that need Watercare's approval, and Watercare may ask for a supplier statement and a maintenance contract.
A trap only works if it is emptied before it overflows into the drain. We install and replace grease traps, handle grease trap cleaning, clear the kitchen lines that feed them, and help you set a cleaning frequency that suits your volume of cooking. Keeping records of each service makes life much easier if Watercare or the council ask.
How It Works
Backflow prevention and compliance
Commercial properties usually need a backflow prevention device at the water meter boundary, and often others inside the building. Watercare requires boundary devices to be tested annually by an Independent Qualified Person, with results submitted to Watercare, and Auckland Council oversees devices within the property.
We install, repair and replace backflow devices and carry out annual backflow testing, so a failed test is fixed quickly and the building warrant of fitness stays current.
Working around your business
Commercial sites have constraints homes do not: health and safety inductions, tenant notice periods, building managers, and customers who should not see a plumber with a jetter in the dining room. We plan around these, carry out disruptive work early morning, late evening or on closed days where needed, and leave the site clean and ready to trade.
We work across the Auckland CBD, city fringe, town centres and industrial areas such as Penrose, East Tāmaki, Wairau Valley and Rosebank.

Commercial Plumbing FAQs
Does my café need a grease trap in Auckland?
Commercial kitchens discharging fats and oils to the wastewater network generally need one. G13/AS2 grease traps are the accepted solution, and other devices need Watercare approval.
How often should a grease trap be cleaned?
It depends on its size and how much you cook. A common approach overseas is to clean before solids and grease reach about a quarter of the trap's capacity. We can help you set a schedule based on your use.
Who tests backflow devices in Auckland?
Boundary devices must be tested annually by an Independent Qualified Person, with results sent to Watercare. We install and repair devices and work with IQP testers.
Can you work after hours?
Yes. We schedule disruptive work before opening, after close or on closed days wherever possible.
Do you handle commercial fit-outs?
We plumb washrooms, kitchens and staff facilities for small to medium commercial fit-outs, working with your builder and consent requirements.
